The Challenge

Photographers accumulate tens of thousands of images across multiple drives and folders. Duplicates pile up, metadata gets lost, and organization breaks down.

What I Built

• Binary Duplicate Detection — MD5 hashing identifies exact duplicates across any number of source directories
• EXIF & GPS Geocoding — Automatic location tagging and classification by camera, lens, and GPS coordinates
• Lightroom Integration — Preserves XMP sidecar files during consolidation so edits and ratings survive
• Event Clustering — Groups photos by date and location into logical events
• Safety First — Preflight checks, dry-run mode, and resume capability ensure zero data loss

The Result

A single tool that takes a scattered photo library and produces a clean, organized, deduplicated archive — saving hours of manual sorting and preventing lost work.
